HISTORICAL FICTION INSPIRED BY GRACE

A turn-of-the-century Cinderella retelling

Evelyn Macaree lives in a loveless home under an abusive stepfamily with only her favorite adventure books for escape. In the secret depths of her heart, she dreams of her best friend's charming older brother sweeping her away, but he's Daniel Prindall, heir to his father's million-dollar estate and practically Boston royalty, and she's only a factory manager's daughter. However, when Daniel notices her at his family's party, in a borrowed dress and made up by her friend's skilled hand, her dreams seem to come true.As Daniel sweeps her into a whirlwind courtship, Evelyn thinks she'll finally escape her stepfamily, until they involve themselves in every aspect of her new life. To make matters worse, Daniel's glittering world proves more difficult to navigate than she imagined. The same week she attends the party with Daniel, she has a chance meeting with her favorite author, August Cates, and his modern, twentieth-century ideas about life make her question the direction God may take her future. As Evelyn struggles to hold onto the pieces of her crumbling dreams, she questions if God will ever bring her to a happily ever after.

After penning her first story at nine-years-old, writing became an unstoppable habit that has filled her free time and her dreams ever since. When she isn't writing or working, she has a tendency to volley between every hobby under the sun, including reading, sewing, growing succulents, or playing with her dog.Megan is a member of ACFW and can be found online at her “bookstagram” account, @mmiles.author, Facebook, or through her newsletter.

Need Prayer?

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2As Christians we’re called to support each other in prayer, and even though I pray that you have other believers around you to come alongside you in times of need, I know that life has seasons of loneliness. I never want another person to feel like they have to go through struggles on their own. If you have a prayer request—big or small—please don’t hesitate to fill out this form. While I would love to be able to pray for you by name, I know sometimes it’s hard to open up so I’ve left the option to do so anonymously. If you feel comfortable enough to leave an email, you won’t be signed up for newsletters or advertisement emails. I’ll only use it to send you a prayer and possibly to follow up on your request if you say you’re comfortable with it.

Have any questions or comments for me? Feel free to fill out this form, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!
